Broad Meeting at Tbilisi City Hall
February 16 saw Coalition for Independent Living members and Tbilisi City Hall representatives gather for a broad meeting and discussions around disability issues prevailing in the capital.
Davit Ninidze – Vice Mayor of Tbilisi and members of almost all of the City Hall departments including Social Services and Culture, Transportation Department, Infrastructure and Amenities, Economic Policies, Ecology and Greenery and many others were attending the meeting. CIL was represented by the leaders of its member organizations.
Discussions dealt with problems preventing disabled persons' independentmeria2.jpg mobility around the city and conditions depriving them of equal opportunities to physical environment. City Hall officials expressed their commitment to take action against discrimination and ensure accessibility of public transportation, squares, parking lots, entertainment and cultural spots, etc. CIL leaders will work closely with the City Hall to ensure maximum result.
