2-day training on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities was held in Kakheti
On November 18-19, the organizations Changes for Equal Rights and Coalition for Independent Living conducted a 2-day training with lawyers working in Kakheti on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Meetings were held in the framework of the EU project, "Civil Society for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities", and it was attended by 28 lawyers.
The training was led by Ketevan Khomeriki, a disability rights lawyer, and Giorgi Dzneladze, Chairperson of the Coalition for Independent Living.
The project aims to strengthen civil society to improve access to justice for persons with disabilities and eliminate discrimination through the development of legal services and effective advocacy.
The trainings were conducted in cooperation with the Georgian Bar Association.
The project is implemented by the organizations Changes for Equal Rights and Coalition for Independent Living with the support of the European Union.
