On October 9-11, a United Nations-supported international seminar titled "Implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to Achieve Social Inclusion" was held in Astana. Representatives from the "Coalition for Independent Living" organization also attended the working meetings.
The speech by the organization's chairman, Giorgi Dznelezde, focused on preschool education. In his presentation, he highlighted the challenges faced by children with disabilities and their families.
The seminar was joined online by Gunta Anka, Vice-President of the European Disability Forum, who spoke about the European Summit on Disability Rights. In total, representatives from disability organizations in more than 10 countries participated in the meetings.
