On January 26, "Coalition for Independent Living" held a meeting with international experts on the issues of persons with disabilities.
Leading US and European disability rights experts Judy Heumann, Denise Figueroa, John Wodatch, Adolf Ratzka, Jamie Bolling and Amber Smock shared their experiences on community mobilization and strengthening the disability movement with their Georgian colleagues.
The conversation touched on the importance of activating the members of the community, their involvement in public life and raising their motivation to be actively involved in the process of receiving the existing decisions about them.
The meeting was held within the framework of the project "Advocacy for the Implementation of Disability Law”, the partners of which are "European Foundation" and "Hudson Wall Center for Independent Living".
