Mobile Groups for Equal Elections for PWDs
In order to ensure the full participation of PWDs into October 1st elections, the Coalition for Independent Living has formed 8 Mobile Groups, equipped with microbuses with special elevators, mobile ramps and providing service to wheelchair users.
The Mobile Groups have been serving the persons with challenges to move and providing their transportation to and from the election district during the whole elections day, in order to ensure their independent participation into elections.
In total, 93 voters from Tbilisi, Gori, Akhaltsikhe and Rustavi have used the mentioned service.
The work of Mobile Groups were implemented within the frameworks of the Project “Strengthening Ongoing Democratic and Electoral Processes with Participation of Persons with Disabilities”, conducted by the Coalition for Independent Living with the support of the International Fund for Election Systems (IFES).
