Online meetings with non-governmental organizations working on the topic of persons with disabilities in Samegrelo
On February 21 and 28, the organizations "Changes for Equal Rights" and "Coalition for Independent Living" held an online meeting with non-governmental organizations working on the topic of disabled people in Samegrelo within the framework of the "Coordinated Civil Society Advocacy for the Implementation of Obligations to Protect the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Georgia" project.
At the meeting, the chairman of the "Changes for Equal Rights" organization, Toma Kakabadze, provided information about the project to the representatives of the non-governmental sector and focused on the need and establishment of a regional coordination network.
The 29-month project aims to take the work of disability organizations to a new level in order to coordinate efforts and accelerate the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the law.
The project is implemented by the organizations "Changes for equal rights" and "Coalition for independent living" with the financial support of the European Union.
