Meetings with representatives of Kvareli, Telavi, Gurjaani, Akhmeta municipalities
On April 26, members of the "Coalition for Independent Living" organization met with representatives of Kvareli, Telavi, Gurjaani, and Akhmet municipalities and held a meeting on the topic of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The training was led by Ketevan Khomeriki, a specialist in the law of the rights of persons with disabilities, and Giorgi Dzneladze, the chairman of the "Coalition for Independent Living".
One of the main topics of the conversation was the determination of the person responsible for the issues of disabled persons in the municipalities.
The meeting was held within the framework of the project "Advocacy for the Implementation of the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities". The "Europe Foundation" and the "Independent Living Center of the Hudson Valley" are the project's partners.
The activity aims to strengthen the organizations of persons with disabilities operating in Georgia so that they can effectively implement the equal rights defined by the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities advocacy and support efforts against discriminatory practices.
