State Care Agency reported on its activities in 2010 at Holiday Inn last week, February 17. The presentation was attended by Andria Urushadze, Minister of Labour, Healthcare and Social Affairs and other officials, UNICEF and various international organizations as well as representatives from  local NGOs.

State Care Agency was established a year ago. It unites 28 former juridical persons and takes care of about 1500 beneficiaries including the elderly, persons with disabilities and homeless children. According to Tamar Makharashvili, Director of State Care Agency, 8 institutions under the Agency has been provided with better infrastructure, medical insurances for beneficiaries, higher quality service, etc. She also presented an outline of SCA plans and strategies for 2011 that will focus on integrating the beneficiaries in the families and the society and ensuring their welfare.
