First Session of State Coordinating Council with Prime Minister

The first ever meeting of State Coordinating Council on the issues of persons with disabilities took place on December 1, 2011 and it was attended by the Prime Minister, Nika Gilauri, Healthcare Minister Andria Urushadze, Minister of Education and Science Dimitri Shashkin and other high officials.

Just as a reminder, State Coordinating Council on the issues of persons with disabilities was established on December 15, 2009 after the Parliament of Georgia approved Concept Paper on Social Integration of Persons with Disabilities and the Council consists of 7 Ministers, leaders of 7 disabled people's organizations, Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of Parliament Committee on Healthcare and Social Affairs.

It was agreed on the meeting that the State Coordinating Council would meet on a monthly basis in the future.
