On July 5, trainers Nata Bukia and Nika Donjashvili conducted training on the issues facing people with disabilities. Disabled activists living in the Shida Kartli region and representatives of disability-related organisations attended the meeting.
The training covered basic issues of disability, existing barriers, and ways to solve them.
The meeting was held within the framework of the project "Advocacy for the Implementation of the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities." The "Europe Foundation" and the "Independent Living Centre of the Hudson Valley" are the project's partners.
The activity aims to strengthen the organisations of persons with disabilities operating in Georgia so that they can effectively implement the equal rights defined by the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Advocacy and support efforts against discriminatory practises.
