In Rustavi, a meeting was held with the heads of City Hall services and persons with disabilities
On April 10, representatives of the "Coalition for Independent Living" met with the heads of City Hall services and persons with disabilities in Rustavi within the framework of the "Advocacy for the implementation of disability law" project.
People with disabilities discussed the dearth of social help, the necessity for personal assistant services, vacation vouchers, and rehabilitation services, as well as the development of perks in Rustavi-Tbilisi transportation.
The issue of sharing statistics data was the main concern of the Rustavi Municipality members. In order to put the legislation and the convention into effect, the discussion also included the creation of the action plan for people with disabilities and the designation of the person in charge of such concerns. The strengthening of inter-departmental collaboration was also given attention.
The "Europe Foundation" and the "Independent Living Center of the Hudson Valley" are the project's partners.
