Project Title: Supporting Disabled Communities in Overcoming the Barriers Caused by Covid-19

Target groups and beneficiaries: Key target groups as well as final beneficiaries of the proposed project are persons with disabilities and their family members living in remote, agricultural-based environments in Adjara, Guria and Samegrelo regions facing additional barriers in accessing basic products and services due to the social distancing caused by Covid-19. Special focus under the MOT activities will be made on PWDs who are living alone without support persons or whose carers are elderly people belonging to risk groups. 

Goal: The proposed project directly responds to the overall purpose of this People in Need COVID-19

Solidarity Grants Programme and aims to mitigate the negative impacts of Covid-19 on regional disabled communities and enhance their rights to health and safety in risk and emergency situations.

Target regions: Adjara, Guria and Samegrelo regions (with the focus on the rural and high mountainous communities)

Project Objectives and Activities:

Specific objectives:

Objective 1:

1.1. Re-contract a total of 12 professionals (4 in each region) in Adjara, Guria and Samegrelo regions and deliver necessary equipment for operations.

1.2. Provide refreshing trainings for contracted 12 professionals on safety and how to react to different requests of the PWDs, considering the previous experience of working of MOTs.

Objective 2:

2.1. Prepare and disseminate informational video-clip about MOT services.

2.2. Disseminate information about MOT services through SMS marketing in each region.

2.3. Conduct outreach to disabled communities in project regions and provide MOT services.

Activities:
